HS State Volleyball: WD Hawks Face Marion in 4A Semifinal

The class 4A 2nd-ranked West Delaware Hawks volleyball team will be back in action at the State Tournament in Cedar Rapids today. The Hawks improved their record to 44-2 with the first round win Tuesday afternoon over 7th-rated Indianola. That win gives the Hawks squad the second best record in program history behind the 49-1 2006 team. It ties them for the 2nd most wins ever by a Hawk team with the 2004 squad who was 44-3.  The opponent today is 3rd-ranked 34-7 Marion, who got past 6th-ranked Charles City Tuesday 3-1. The Hawks won the only meeting versus the Indians back on October 11th 2-0 in the CR Jefferson Westside Invite. Match time is scheduled for Noon inside the US Cellular Center.
