Wanda Lee Allison, 81, of Manchester, Iowa, died on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on September 12, 1933, in Mederville, the daughter of Dick Hines and Ivanell Nading. Wanda was raised in the area, and received her education at Dundee.
On July 13, 1956, Wanda was united in marriage to Harland Allison. Together they resided in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, for a short time before making their home in Manchester. Wanda was employed for 34 years at the Good Neighbor Home. She was a resident at the Good Neighbor Home since 2008.
Wanda loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and her pets.
Survivors include six children, Karyl (Tom) Brown of Jesup, Jerry (Deb) Johnson of Galt, Sandi (Mark Van Auken) Ponsar of Manchester, Harland (Ruth) Allison, Jr. of Rapids City, South Dakota, Linda (Floyd) Mesch and Barbara (Kevin) Seibert both of Manchester; eighteen grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Etta) Hines of Arlington, Iowa.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harland, in 2010; a daughter, Juanita Allison; and two grandsons, Christopher Davis, Jr. and Michael Johnson.
