Law enforcement will be out on the roads in full force this Thanksgiving holiday. The Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is teaming up with local, county and state officers for the Special Traffic Enforcement Program known as STEP in an effort to help reduce crashes and save lives. Law enforcement encourages you to buckle up, slow down and drive defensively in your travels around the state. Those who choose not to buckle up or drive aggressively have a higher chance of being stopped by law enforcement. This special traffic enforcement effort kicked off yesterday and runs through Sunday.
