West Delaware Fall Sports Banquet

Hawks06The annual West Delaware Fall Sports Banquets were held Sunday night.  The Hawk Volleyball team celebrated their second place state finish and 2nd most wins in a season in program history.  All-WaMac academic honors were earned by Marly Boies, Cassie Eilers, Erin Goebel, Bridget Hoffmann, Carlee Ketchum, Mariah Kleitsch, Haley Morrison, Kaitlyn Reth, Emily Thole, Kristen Wegmann and Taylor Zieser.

The three seniors on the team – Haley Morrison, Marly Boies and Emily Thole were voted Team Captains.

“Co-MVP” award winners were Carlee Ketchum and Emily Thole. Thole was also named the “Defensive Specialist” and broke the school’s all-time dig record with 1270 in her career.

The “Offensive Specialist” was presented to Kristen Wegmann, the “Hardest Worker” award was given to Bridget Hoffmann and the “7th player” award was earned by Mariah Kleitsch.

Girls Cross Country award winners:

Most Improved Underclassmen: Heidi Yonkovic, Jamie Glanz, Macy Klein

Most Improved Upperclassman: Marin Woods

Coaches Award: Kenna Coates and Kaitlin Pauls

Most Valuable Runner: Janna Utter

Heart of a Hawk: Kinsey Gudenkauf and Hannah Gaffney

On the boy’s side Sophomore Brent Downs was named ‘Most Improved”;  Logan Reilly, Harrison Guetzko, and Ty Cassutt were named Captains; Reilly was named Most Valuable Runner while Guetzko given the “Mr. Guts” award. Christian Schnieders was given the Coaches Award and  Jacob Vandemeer was named “Hardest Worker”.
