New Manchester City Hall Windows Getting Installed

20141202_112306The new windows at Manchester City Hall are going up this week. Renaissance Restoration’s crews removed the building’s original windows in August after the Manchester City Council agreed to replace them at a cost of around 158-thousand dollars. City council members were hesitant to lose a piece of the building’s history, but the new windows are promised to carry the same historic appearance. The work was originally expected to take four to six weeks, but a window quality issue pushed back that schedule. City Hall’s windows have been boarded up since that time. The windows on all three other sides of the building have already been replaced. Crews moved in Monday to install the new windows, with their equipment set up on the street and sidewalk in front of City Hall. Use some extra caution when driving or walking in the area.
