Independence Man Facing Felony Charges in Fatal Crash

An Independence man is facing felony charges for a deadly crash. After a month long investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office filed charges against 18-year old Anthony Fogle on Wednesday. Authorities say Fogle was the driver of a pickup that crashed west of Oelwein on November 1st. Fogle was westbound on 35th Street when he went into the ditch and hit a residential driveway, causing his pickup truck to become airborne and roll several times. His front seat passenger, 20-year old Branden Samuel of Wadena, was ejected and killed in the crash. Fogle and a back seat passenger, 21-year old Louis Lumpkin of Oelwein, were injured. Fogle’s charges include vehicular homicide and OWI 1st Offense. He was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he’s being held on 25-thousand dollars cash bond.
