Julia Ann “Judy” Williams, 78, of Oelwein, Iowa, formerly of Edgewood and Manchester, died on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Grandview Healthcare Center in Oelwein. She was born on June 7, 1936, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of George Nicholas and Hazel (Kennedy) Noland. Judy graduated from South Charleston High School in West Virginia in 1955.
In 1978, Judy was united in marriage to Meryl E. Williams in Norfolk, Virginia. The couple lived in Jacksonville, Florida, moved to Edgewood in 1978, and Manchester in 1988. Meryl died on March 9, 2003.
Survivors include a son, Meryl “Nick” (Evelyn) Williams of Cedar Falls, and Jenifer (Leo Slater) Young of Lamont; five grandchildren, Jessica Fischer, Haley Rose Williams, Corbin Williams, Ashton Cross, and Michaela Cross; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, George Noland of West Virginia.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Meryl; a son, Jody Sexton; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Bockenstedt; and a great-granddaughter, Summer Rain Tarbox.
Judy’s wish was to donate her body to science.
The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
