Parade floats, live window scenes and decorated windows were all part of the Manchester Window Walk on Thursday night… and this year’s winners have been announced.
The winners of the Static Christmas Parade were determined by the amount of money each float collected. People were invited to vote for their favorite by making a monetary donation, and the float with the most donations won. Sherman’s Pumpkin Patch teamed up with Manchester Fareway for their “Polar Express” train, which won first place, taking in over 51 dollars. The Good Neighbor Home won second place, collecting over 41 dollars. And the Delaware County Master Gardeners took third place, taking in 38 dollars. Overall, the parade floats collected 223 dollars, which will be donated to Operation Santa Claus.
Many of the live window scenes at downtown Manchester businesses featured the theme “Christmas Around the World”. The first place winner was Thompson Shoes, who featured a life-sized “Elf on a Shelf”. Lake Design and Decor took second place with their Mexican Christmas theme, complete with pinatas.
First place for best decorated store window went to Roses in the Snow with their Scandinavian theme, and Heritage Printing won second place for their sledding family.
The judges’ favorite live window scene was Widner’s Drug and Gift, with their portrayal of Christmas at the Vatican featuring owner Bob Sack as the Pope.
