HS Basketball: Results From Tuesday 12-16

The West Delaware girls basketball team improved their record to 5-1 last night in a home victory over Beckman 55-51. The Blazers fell to 3-4 on the season. Kasey Palmer led the Hawks by scorching the nets hitting seven 3-pointers, 5 in the first half and ending the game with 29 points. Kristen Wegmann chipped in with 12 and Emily Thole added 9. Beckman was paced by Blair Klostermann with 21 points, Kylie Bildstein and Brooke Klostermann added 9 each.

In boys play from last night:

The West Delware Hawks pulled off the upset of the night with a 67-51 win over 2A 2nd-ranked Beckman in Dyersville. The Hawks were led by Ty Cassutt with 24 and Jordan Nolz had 19 points. The Blazers were limited offensively with the loss of their talented Junior Sage Maiers who left the game with an ankle injury early in the first quarter. The Hawks upped their mark to 2-3 and the Blazers fell to 4-2.
