Lloyd Sperfslage, 77, of Monticello, Iowa and formerly of Prairieburg died Wednesday, December 23, 2014, at Monticello Nursing & Rehab. Center.
Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairieburg with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Cahill will officiate.
Lloyd was born on September 21, 1937, in Earlville, Iowa, the son of William and Teresa (Soethe) Sperfslage. He moved at the age of 4, with his parents, to a farm near Prairieburg. After attending St. Joseph’s School, he helped on the family farm. Lloyd enjoyed “The Price Is Right” and all sports on T.V. He also liked playing Bingo and going on outings and family get-togethers.
He made his home at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center since 2001. The family would like to thank them and Above and Beyond Hospice for all of their care and special acts of kindness.
Survivors include a brother, Louis (Bobbi) Sperfslage, and a sister, Joan (Larry) Stoneking, both of Monticello, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Helen Sperfslage, and a brother-in-law, Lester Weber.
