Hopkinton Man Faces Child Pornography Charges

jail-bars-and-cuffs1A Hopkinton man is facing child pornography charges. An indictment alleges that 50-year old Paul LeClere received and possessed child pornography between 2003 and 2013. LeClere has been charged with receipt of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. The Delaware, Dubuque, Clinton and Scott County sheriff’s offices investigated the case, along with Homeland Security Investigations and Davenport Police. The charges were filed December 17th in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids. If convicted, LeClere faces at least five years in prison and a possible maximum sentence of 110 years in prison, a one-point-five million dollar fine, a six-hundred dollar special assessment and a lifetime of supervised release following imprisonment. He appeared for a detention hearing last Wednesday and was released on bond. His next trial appearance is set for February 23rd.
