The Maquoketa Valley School Board met Monday night. The board was scheduled to discuss property valuations for Fiscal Year 2016, but the topic was tabled and will be discussed at their February meeting.
The High School Course Catalog for next school year was approved, and the board has plans to purchase a school bus this summer using SILO funds.
Maquoketa Valley has been awarded a Teacher Leadership and Compensation Grant for next school year. Final budget numbers will be announced in February. A committee has started working on the details that are necessary for the teacher leadership system to be implemented.
The Earlville United Parish has made a generous donation to Earlville Elementary. The school has used the donation to purchase six copies of forty different books that covered ten different reading levels to add to the Earlville book room.
Coming up… Iowa Assessments are scheduled for the week of February 9th for grades 3 through 8. And the Maquoketa Valley Academic Excellence Banquet will be held May 3rd, with Laura Bohrer scheduled as the guest speaker.
