HS Baseball/Softball: Results From Thursday 6-4

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The West Delaware Baseball team lost their first game of the season last night on the road in Tiffin, taking on WaMaC West division opponent Clear Creek-Amana. The Clippers came back after being down 2-0 to win game one 6-3. Hawks head coach Nate Lahr gave credit to CC-A for making the plays when they needed to:

LAHR1 6-5

The Hawks came back and won game two by holding on in thrilling fashion, 2-1, retiring the Clippers on a lineout double play with two runners on with 1 out in the bottom of the seventh inning. Senior pitcher Ty Cassutt controlled the game on the mound, only allowing 4 hits and striking out 3. With another solid outing by him and enough run support, Cassutt improved to 7-0 in his varsity career:

LAHR2 6-5

Coach Lahr was pleased with the effort by his team in the six game week as they are off until Monday now, then get ready for six more games next week:

LAHR3 6-5
