Manchester Library Holds First Ever “Libcon”

libcon1The first ever “Libcon” was held Saturday at the Manchester Public Library.  “Libcon” is a take off on the popular “Comicon” events held throughout the country.  Several artists were on hand displaying and selling comic-related items.  Jeff Dyer of Dubuque is a writer who is helping keep the “Peanuts” comics alive.  Boom Studios started a comic book series featuring the Peanuts characters after the death of Charles Schultz:

libcon2Steve Potter is an artist for Topps trading cards and creates the “Garbage Pale Kids” series.  Potter says a lot of adults are surprised the series still exists:

libcon6Ben and Garrett Turner of Manchester were at the event displaying their creations used in “cosplay”.

A costume contest was also held during the event.
