The class 2A 14th ranked Cascade Cougars improved to 22-10 with a 7-0 victory over Denver in Manchester last night. In only the second Regional Final in program history, it turned the same as the first one back in 1994, the last time the Cougars made it to Fort Dodge. Cascade scored one in the first, three in the third and one the next three innings with 7 hits while taking advantage of 7 Denver error’s. Senior Lexi Weber, the daughter of head coach Ken Weber explained how she felt after the W last night:

Junior Lynsey Dolphin was nearly dominating inside the circle only allowing 4 hits while striking out one and issuing no free passes, she talked about her mindset on facing the Cyclones:

As the team is a part of Cascade athletic history now, Coach Weber hopes this is only a stepping stone for the future and the program can benefit greatly because of what this group has accomplished:
The Cougars received the 7th seed in the 2A bracket and will face #2 33-9 North Union next Tuesday night at 7pm.
