The West Delaware Hawks had their 2015 season come to a close last night in frustrating fashion at Waverly taking on 10th-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock. The Hawks fell 1-0 in a tense mostly played contest. West Delaware fell behind 1-0 in the 2nd and thought they had the game tied up on a two-out Bridget Hoffman single up the middle but a controversial runner interference call ensued and took the run off the board and ended the threat. The Hawks had the tying run on 2nd before two straight strikeouts ended the game. First-year head coach Tiffany Rave says it was the ideal game except things just didn’t workout in their favor but gave credit to a good W-SR team who improved their record to 34-5:

The Hawks say good bye to six seniors who brought so much to the program throughout the past 5 seasons, coach is proud to have them as her first elder group as the leaders of the Hawks program:
West Delaware ends the season with a mark of 25-15 in their 6th regional final in 9 years with a record of 5-1 in the final’s since 2004.
