Senator Ernst Holds Town Meeting in Manchester

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst held her first Delaware County town meeting on Wednesday. The freshman Republican senator met with about sixty local residents at QC Supply in Manchester, catching them up on some of the legislative issues she’s been involved with since she took office in January. Ernst told KMCH it’s been a busy and successful seven months.

One of the pressing issues right now is the potential Iran nuclear agreement. Ernst says she has some major concerns with this possible deal, which she says will be one of the most significant votes the U.S. Senate will ever consider.

The Iran nuclear agreement is the number one issue that Ernst is hearing about from Iowans, with the majority not favoring it. She’s taking all those comments and concerns into careful consideration as she travels across the state. She’s also making time for brief visits with Iowans who are making the trip to her Washington D.C. office.

And Ernst has a local woman serving on her staff… Ryan native Brittney Zumbach started her new position in June as Senator Ernst’s Regional Director based out of Cedar Rapids. (Photos by KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker)
