HS Football: Week 1 Preview

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The 2015 high school football season starts up tonight for KMCH area coverage schools. The class 3A fifth-ranked West Delaware Hawks are ready to take the field against one of their highway 20 rivals. Twelfth-year head coach Doug Winkowitsch says his squad is ready to begin the journey:

WINK1 8-28

The expectations are high but Coach Wink knows his team will have to stay focused and play well every night out to achieve the success they strive for:

WINK2 8-28

The opponent tonight is a Western Dubuque team who finished 6-4 and made the playoffs last season. A lot of experience graduated but the team features a talented junior class that sustained all-winning success since they’ve been in middle school:

WINK3 8-28

Coach Wink hopes the winning culture will be contagious in Hawk country this fall:

WINK4 8-28

All the coverage tonight here from KMCH Sports live on KMCH and KMCH.com with Jamie Vaske, Aaron Plein and Bill Logan after the Football Friday Night Pregame Show with Sports Director Jon Swisher starting around 6:45pm

Our area online and playback game of the week features Anamosa taking the trip to Stanwood to play North Cedar. The non-district 1A/2A match-up will kick-off at 7pm with Sports Director Jon Swisher, Kevin Barnes and Kirk Ketelsen.
