HS Cross Country: Results 9/22/15

Area Cross Country results from Tuesday:

The Vinton-Shellsburg girls won their own invitational at Roger’s Park in Vinton.  West Delaware came in 5th.  Janna Utter paced the Hawks coming in 14th overall with a time of 23:39.  Vinton-Shellsburg came in first in the boys meet as well, with West Delaware coming in 3rd in the 8 team field.  Noah Crumpton led the Hawks with an 11th place finish and a time of 19:05.

The West Delaware finished in third place behind 8th ranked Vinton Shellsburg and Benton Community. Sophomore Noah Crumpton finished in 11th place with a time of 19:05. He was followed by sophomore Cole Engel-15th (19:27), sophomore Brady Carroll- 22nd (20:06), sophomore Keegan Kolbet- 24th (20:23), junior Austin Pettlon- 26th (20:28), senior Christian Schnieders-27th(20:34), and sophomore Ben Litterer who finished in 32nd place with a career PR time of 20:52.

The WD Hawk teams will run at the Independence Invitational held on the MHI Campus this Saturday morning with the running to start at 8:45am.

The Marion girls took first at the Stormin’ Pointer Invitational at CP-U.  Cascade came in 2nd, North Linn was 3rd , Anamosa 5th and Maquoketa Valley was 7th.  Ed-Co’s Hanna Hess was the top Viking runner with a 7th place finish.  Marion also took the boys title; Anamosa was 4th; Cascade 5th; North Linn 7th; Ed-Co 8th; East Buchanan 9th; Maquoketa Valley 11th.  Ed-Co’s Nick Putz was 14th and Jacob Wessel 15th.
