The first ever “River Runner Regatta” was held Saturday on the Maquoketa River in Manchester Saturday. One of the organizers, Chad Sands from the Franklin Street Brewery was amazed with the turn out:
Teams and individuals built boats made mostly out of cardboard, with their objective being to navigate Manchester’s White Water Park without sinking. Themes ranged from “The Edmund Fitzgerald” to the “US Armed Forces”, “Noah’s Shark”, and more:
