Douglas E. Oakleaf, 95, of Manchester, Iowa, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born on June 21, 1920, in Sioux City, the son of Byron and Alice (Anderson) Oakleaf. Doug graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. He then attended and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State College. Doug served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII.
On January 10, 1943, Doug was united in marriage to Arlene Adeline Peterson in Ames. Three children were born to this union. Doug worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad until his retirement in 1980. Over the years they resided in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Minnesota. Prior to moving to Manchester they resided in Minnesota for 35 years.
Survivors include his three children, Thomas Douglas (Janet) Oakleaf of Manchester, Sandra Ann Meyer of Shoreview, Minnesota, and Sharon Oakleaf Olson of Eagan Minnesota; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Arlene, in 2013; his sister, Frances Gaskell; and a son-in-law, James Meyer.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., on October 2, 2015, at First Lutheran Church in Manchester, Iowa.
