Hawks; Blue Raiders Move On To Playoff Football Quarter-Finals

West Delaware beat Solon 37-14 Monday night to remain undefeated at 11-0 and will move on to the state football quarter-finals Friday night.  The Hawks led 14-7 at halftime, then West Delaware came out in the second half and scored twice on their first two possessions with Coy Roussell running the ball 66 and 65 yards for touchdowns.


Roussell ended the night with 241 yards on 23 carries. The Hawks will play Decorah Friday night at Brown Field.  Decorah upset unbeaten Cedar Rapids Xavier 30-21.  West Delaware beat Decorah in the regular season 48-21.

In Class 2A Anamosa also remains unbeaten with a 42-14 thrashing of Williamsburg.  Anamosa will be at home Friday night hosting Mount Vernon, who beat Central Lee of Donnellson 41-28.
