HS Basketball: WD Boys Open New Season At Home

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The new season for high school boys basketball officially started last night around the state but it begins this evening for a majority of the KMCH area teams including the West Delaware Hawks who will entertain Benton Community tonight inside Seedorff Gymnasium. The Hawks are coming off of a 11-11 campaign, the most wins and a non-losing record in several seasons. Third-year head coach Matt Uthoff hopes the improvement continues in the positive direction for a varsity group who has great size and a defensive mindset but will be rather young and inexperienced:

UTHOFF1 12-1

Coach Uthoff talks about the opponent tonight and the expectations and outlook for his team:

UTHOFF2 12-1

Two new assistant coaches join Coach Uthoff at the varsity level with former Ed-Co girls coach Roger Wright along with 2008 alum and former Hawks assistant BJ Hermsen:

UTHOFF3 12-1

All the coverage live tonight on KMCH and KMCH.com with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bill Logan around 7:30pm.
