Ketchum Named Gatorade Iowa Volleyball Player Of The Year

More accolades for West Delaware Volleyball standout Carlee Ketchum.  The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with USA TODAY High School Sports has named Ketchum their 2015-16 Gatorade Iowa Volleyball Player of the Year. Ketchum is the first Gatorade Iowa Volleyball Player of the Year to be chosen from West Delaware High School. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Ketchum as Iowa’s best high school volleyball player The 5-foot-7 senior setter led the Hawks to a 49-2 record and the Class 4A state championship this past season. Ketchum recorded 992 assists, 331 digs, 211 kills and 39 blocks. A two-time First Team All-State selection, she was captain of the Class 4A All-State Tournament team and was named Player of the Year by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Ketchum has maintained a 3.93 GPA in the classroom. A member of the student council and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, she has volunteered locally as a youth religion teacher and a volleyball camp counselor. Ketchum has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at Upper Iowa University in the fall of 2016.
