Mary Lou Kimball, 85, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on June 18, 1930, in Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Susie (Kearney) Barker. Mary Lou spent her early years in Missouri and received her education there.
On December 28, 1948, Mary Lou was united in marriage to Glen Vetter in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Three children were born to this union. The family moved to the DeWitt and Clinton, Iowa, area in 1950. They then settled in Manchester in the mid 1950’s. Glen passed away on March 13, 1974. Mary Lou was later united in marriage to Al Kimball. Al passed away in August 2015.
Mary Lou made woven rugs for many years and loved to read. She enjoyed being with her friends, but especially loved being with her family.
Survivors include her three children, Cheryl Smith of Independence, Kathy (Steve) Kelchen of Herman, Missouri, and Jan (Mark) Hempstead of Manchester; two step-daughters, Lynne (Paul) Altimier and Chris (Jack) Carver all of Colorado; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Gary Barker of Missouri; her sister, Pat Wahn of Higginsville, Missouri; and her special dog, Sparkle.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Glen Vetter and Al Kimball; a son –in-law, Gary Smith; and step-son, Randy Kimball.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester.
Officiating: Rev. Phil Rogers.
Visitation: 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
Interment: Oakland Cemetery – Manchester, Iowa
