CVG’s Edgewood location will be closing next year. The Edgewood Chamber says CVG (also known as Commercial Vehicle Group) informed building owners earlier this month that operations in Edgewood will cease in 2016. It’s part of a major restructuring initiative at the company, with Edgewood’s jobs moving to CVG’s plant in Mexico. The closure will affect over 50 employees, who will be offered a severance package or will be offered jobs in CVG’s other areas.
The CVG building in Edgewood is a 36-thousand square foot facility that is owned by a group of local investors. The Edgewood Chamber, Edgewood Economic Board of Development and their county economic development partners are working on marketing the building and promoting job opportunities in Edgewood.
