The Manchester City Council held a public hearing last night on a request from Kevin Glanz to rezone the property at 601 South 5th Street. Glanz purchased the property with hopes to use it as an office duplex, believing it was already zoned for commercial use when it was actually zoned for residential. He is requesting the old church property be rezoned from R1-80 Single Family Low Density to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial. The property is already surrounded by other commercial properties. No one spoke against the rezoning at last night’s public hearing. The council approved the first reading of the ordinance to rezone the property, with plans to consider the second reading and waive the third reading next month.
