Arlington Retailer Caught Selling Tobacco to Minor

An Arlington retailer was caught selling tobacco to a minor earlier this month. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says an employee at Charlie’s Quik Shop sold to a minor who was working undercover for the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office partners with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division to conduct tobacco compliance checks at retail establishments. Charlie’s Quik Shop was one of two retailers to violate the law – the other was The Pumper in Fayette. The two employees were cited for providing tobacco to a minor. If convicted of the charges, the retailers could face more administrative sanctions from the State.
