HS Wrestling: West Delaware Falls On Senior Night

Eight West Delaware seniors took part in their last home dual meet Thursday night inside the Seedorff Gymnasium as they hosted Williamsburg in WaMaC wrestling action. The Raiders started the dual by winning the first four matches three of those coming by fall on their way to a 22-0 lead. Sophomore Cole Engel, freshman Mitchell Mangold, and senior Owen Ward got the Hawks on the board as they all picked up bonus points, closing the gap to 22-13, but Williamsburg won six of the final seven matches adding three more pins to defeat West Delaware 52-16. West Delaware head coach Jeff Voss says every time out the kids are gaining valuable experience:

Next up for the Hawks is the very competitive Cedar Rapids Jefferson Invitational this Saturday which will feature five ranked teams and 47 ranked individuals a tournament Voss comments is one of the toughest he’s ever seen:
