The Manchester Chamber hosted its Annual Awards and Kick-Off Night at Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant Tuesday night. Several deserving individuals and groups were recognized. The prestigious Ernest Hayhow Chamber Person of the Year Award was presented to Delaware County Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer, who spent five years serving on the Chamber Board.
The Chamber Project of the Year Award was given to the committee who helped make the Manchester Whitewater Park a reality. Chair Ryan Wicks, along with City Manager Tim Vick, accepted on their behalf.
The Manchester Chamber’s Family-Community-Opportunity Award was given to the Manchester Mural Committee, the Meritorious Service Award was presented to the Regional Medical Center Governing Board of Trustees, the Committee of the Year went to the committee who organized the first-ever Bacon-N-Hops Festival last summer. And a new award – the “Unsung Hero” Award – was presented to Chamber volunteer Dennis Robertson. Whether it was helping with the Manchester mural project or lending a hand with Manchester’s Pride Week activities, Robertson stepped in wherever a volunteer was needed.
The Manchester Chamber’s outgoing board president Shirley Rempe was also recognized, along with new Chamber Board president Chris Cruse.
