Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders made a quick stop in Manchester Saturday morning for a volunteer rally. Nearly 200 people came to the Delaware County Community Center at the fairgrounds to hear the U.S. Senator speak.
Sanders is in a tight race with fellow Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton heading into the Iowa Caucuses. He told his Delaware County supporters that everything is on the line this Monday night.
Supporters at Sander’s rally were excited to see him – cheering, waving signs and proudly wearing “Bernie” shirts and stickers – as he briefly addressed the crowd. It was the sixth Sanders’ rally for Manchester resident Katie Mitchell, who grabbed a selfie with the Senator before he headed back on the road.
Hopkinton resident Amy Krapfl told KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker that she plans to caucus for Sanders.
She says she appreciates that he took the time to visit with Delaware County voters.
