The High School Boys Basketball postseason begins tonight for three area schools. We’ll have a doubleheader featuring Maquoketa Valley and Anamosa from KMCH Sports. In 2A District # 8, the 4-17 Wildcats will face 2-19 Oelwein at Union High School in LaPorte Ciy. That game tip at 6:30pm live with Bill Logan and Rob St. John.
The nightcap will bring a 2A district 9 first rounder as the 16-5 6th-ranked Blue Raiders hosts 6-16 North Cedar. The Anamosa boys program is having their 2nd best season record wise in 36 years. They captured a share of a conference title for the first time since 1992 last week. Eighteenth-year head coach Kevin Barnes says the focus hasn’t been on the numbers and breaking program records but more about improving and being the best team that this group of players can possibly be:
Coach Barnes comments that his team will have to continue the theme of focusing on their opponent no matter what their record may be because every team essentially starts 0-0:

In 1A District 6, 5-16 Starmont will entertain 6-15 Lansing Kee at 7pm. All our other area coverage schools will await their opponent from tonight’s winners with their first postseason games coming up on Thursday night.
