HS Sports: Monday 4-18 Recap

The annual Maquoketa Valley Girls Wildcat Track and Field meet was held last night in Delhi on a very comfortable 80-degree night. The fifteen team event featured these team score standings:

The West Delaware Boys Track team traveled to the Oelwein Invitational and came away with their 2nd meet win on the season. Those team scores looked like this:

  1. West Delaware 121   2. Union   6. Independence 42   8. Starmont 35

The West Delaware Boys won the Blazer Invitational at Dyersville Golf and Country Club.  The Hawks finished with a team score of 312; Beckman was 2nd with a 351; Monticello took 3rd with a 353.  Race Cuckler of Cascade and Bryce Frick of West Delaware tied for medalist with a 76.  The Hawks took the next 3 spots, with Trent Shaw shooting a 77; Clayton Larson 78; and Derik Foster and 81.  Riely LeGarnd was the top Blazer with an 82.

At Wood’s Edge, Ed-Co beat  North Fayette/Valley  1-73-180. Co-medalists – Ethan Streicher EdCo and Kedrick Bemis NFV – 39

The West Delaware Girls Golf squad won in their first home meet taking down Beckman yesterday afternoon, 235-275. Mariah Kleitsch was the medalist with a 47, Ashley Goebel shot a 52.

The boys soccer team from West Delaware lost at home 7-0 to Anamosa, the Hawks drop to 0-6 while the Blue Raiders improved to 4-1.
