Manchester’s History Captured in Commemorative Sesquicentennial Book

In honor of Manchester’s Sesquicentennial, the City has created a commemorative book that you can purchase as a keepsake.

The book features 80 pages of black and white photos of the city’s first 150 years. The photos include Manchester’s downtown streets from the era of horse and buggies to the present day, along with photos of Manchester’s businesses, schools and recreational areas over the years. You can even check out old advertisements from the 1900’s in the last few pages of the book.

City Manager Tim Vick says the books have been available since this spring. They’ll also be selling the books at community events this summer.

You can purchase the new Manchester Sesquicentennial book at Manchester City Hall, F&M Bank and the Manchester Chamber. The books are twenty dollars each. Click through a few photos from the pages of the book below for a sneak peek!
