The class 3A 6th-ranked West Delaware Hawks Baseball team lost their fourth game in a row last night hosting Marion in a WaMaC Conference cross-division doubleheader. The Hawks offense continued to struggle to score consistently while Marion tallied 22 hits on the night. The Hawks fell by 1 run in both contests, 4-3 in 8 innings in the first game. Junior Kyle Wright made the end of game 2 interesting with a grand slam home run in the 6th inning, his first career grand slam but the Hawks could only muster one more run in the 7th to fall 6-5. The Hawks are now 20-8 overall and post a WaMaC Conference mark of 17-6 and will head to Williamsburg to conclude the week on Friday night.

Tonight the Class 4A 6th-rated West Delaware Hawks Softball team travels to Mount Vernon looking for a WaMaC Conference East division title for the first time since 2011, it would be the Hawks first outright championship since 2008. The Hawks are 28-8 with a 9-1 East side mark. The Mustangs are the 7th-ranked team in 3A with a 25-12 record and 8-4 conference division mark.
