It was a busy weekend in Manchester with the Country Cruisers Car Cruise events and the Chamber’s second annual Bacon-N-Hops Festival.
Local residents got a chance to sample some bacon goodies and craft beer at Bacon-N-Hops Saturday afternoon. Chamber Director Jessica Pape says they had about a dozen vendors offering samples.
Chamber President Chris Cruse was there representing Runde Auto Group in Manchester, handing out samples of maple bacon ice cream.
This Manchester man was checking out Bacon-N-Hops for the first time.
Bacon-N-Hops is where the car cruise ended Saturday night. Hundreds of vehicles showed up for the cruise, which traveled through about ten towns across northern and southern Delaware County. And this year’s cruise even had two newlyweds along for the ride. Steve Smith and Mellyssa Boyd got married at Tirrill Park Saturday, and then headed to EZ Pickens to get lined up for the cruise.
That ’54 Ford truck is what the couple cruised in Saturday night… and it served as their wedding guest book.
Their wedding party, along with their parents and grandparents, joined them on the cruise before ending the day with a reception at the Legion.
And the car show wrapped up the weekend on Sunday at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, with Keith Hilkin of Dubuque’s vehicle named “Best of Show”.
