Share the Harvest is in its fourth year of helping feed the Manchester community.
This weekly event offers local gardeners the opportunity to drop off extra fruits and vegetables, and then those in need of supplemental food are welcome to stop by and pick up the produce.
Director Robin Stone says there has been one major change this year – they have moved the event to Tuesday nights instead of Thursday nights.
Share the Harvest is a member of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, which supplements the program with food that may not be offered by local gardeners.
Share the Harvest has not only helped local residents by providing food and recipes – it’s also become a social gathering.
Share the Harvest will end sometime in September. You can stop by The Watershed on River Street every Tuesday night to drop off extra garden produce between 4 and 5:30 pm, and anyone in need can stop by at 6 pm.
