Hero Hustle Triathlon A Huge Success

The “Hero Hustle” sprint triathlon held Sunday in Manchester was a huge success:

That’s Manchester Parks and Recreation Director Doug Foley.  93 individuals competed, along with 14 teams.  The race consisted of a 400 yard swim, 16 mile bike ride and a5k run.  The individual athletes did all three legs while the teams were made up of three athletes that each did one leg of the race.  For Gina Trimble of Independence it was something she’s never done before:

Jonathon Barron of Manchester has competed in many triathlons and was very impressed with Sunday’s event:

Wes Anderson of Dubuque was the overall individual winner with a time of 1:01:10.  Sarah Doneth of Bettendorf was the top female with a time of 1:18:56.  Top team honors went to the “Three Amigos” of Strawberry Point who completed the course in 1:19:05.  In a special category that included area fire departments and EMT crews, the top team consisted of Jason Groskurth, Aaron Waugh, and Lucas Pfieler of the Dundee Fire Department.  Click HERE for complete results.
