West Delaware Postpones Homecoming Parade; Students Help with Flood Efforts

West Delaware is celebrating Homecoming this week, but the school’s plans were changed when floodwaters hit Manchester on Friday.

Instead of holding their annual West Delaware Homecoming parade on Friday afternoon, Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says they made the decision to cancel it in light of the devastation that was hitting their community.

The West Delaware students even spent their Friday morning helping fill sandbags at the City Shop.

Tonight’s West Delaware freshman football game has been postponed to Monday, but the varsity game will go on as planned at 7:15 pm. Homecoming royalty was crowned last night, with Sam Johnson and Rachel Sunne named West Delaware Homecoming King and Queen.
