HS Football: Ed-Co To Host Starmont For Homecoming 2016

Ed-Co students have been celebrating homecoming festivities this week and tomorrow night they will get the rare opportunity of seeing their football team play two games during homecoming week. The varsity contest between the Vikings and Wapsie Valley scheduled for last Friday was postponed due to the weather and was made up Monday night in Fairbank in a game that Ed-Co lost 48-6, and head coach James Rochford hopes his team will be ready to play despite the quick turnaround:

Looking ahead to the game tomorrow the Vikings will host Starmont in a class A district 4 contest and Rochford says his team will have to play much better up front especially against a physical team like Starmont:

Rochford 2

Both teams come in 2-3 overall and 2-1 in district play and Starmont head coach Matt Lee says he has told his team that each game is so important with only two teams from each district qualifying for the playoffs:

Lee 1

The game tomorrow night is this week’s area online and playback of the week and can be heard on KMCH.com starting around 7:00 with Kevin Schuchmann and Dan McClean and played back after the West Delaware vs Clear Creek-Amana contest.
