Old Time Radio Shows and Dinner at Lenox College

A group of local residents known as the Lenox College Radio Theatre Players will be hosting a special event at the Lenox College Museum in Hopkinton this Saturday night.

It’s an opportunity for you to see – or maybe we should say “hear” – old time radio shows.

That’s Sig Bonebrake of Earlville. He’s one of the Lenox College Radio Theatre Players, along with his wife, Sue. Sue says they’ll be performing original radio scripts from the 1930’s and ’40’s, using sound effects to entertain the audience.

They even have a new sound system this year, donated in memory of one of their founding members, DJ Hucker.

The KLNX Troubadours and Monticello Men’s Choir will also perform, and guests will be treated to a stuffed pork chop dinner. The cost is $19.59 – in honor of the year the Delaware County Historical Society was founded. Reservations are necessary – call 319-480-1409 for tickets. Dinner will start at 6:30 pm Saturday night, with doors opening at 5:45 pm.
