High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash West of Manchester

A high-speed chase ended in a crash near Manchester Tuesday night.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office says the chase started in Grundy County. The driver led authorities on a chase in the eastbound lanes of Highway 20 through Black Hawk and Buchanan counties before entering Delaware County. Speeds had reached over 100 miles per hour, and authorities used stop sticks to deflate the vehicle’s tires.

The vehicle hit a cement bridge abutment just west of Manchester. It then hit a road sign and went into the ditch.

The driver ran from the vehicle, but she was apprehended.

Authorities say 23-year old Jennie Myers of Bloomington, Wisconsin, faces several charges, including OWI, felony eluding, possessing marijuana and speeding.

Several law enforcement agencies assisted in the chase, including the Iowa State Patrol and various officers from Delaware, Buchanan and Jones counties.
