HS Volleyball: WD Hawks Advance To 15th Straight Regional Final

The West Delaware Hawks Volleyball program reached their 15th regional final in a row as they swept North Fayette-Valley last night inside Seedorff Gymnasium. The Hawks dominated set one winning 25-6 then took games two and three, 25- and 25-18. Hawks head coach Brett Mather said he was very pleased with the play of his squad:


The third-ranked Hawks will travel to West Union Monday night to face 14th-ranked 22-11 Osage with the winner advancing to the state tournament, for the Hawks it would be their 5th trip in a row.

In Dyersville, Beckman survived an upset bid from CP-U, holding off the Stormin’ Pointers in 5 sets, 3-2.

 Set scores included, CP-U 25-20/Beckman 27-25/CP-U 25-16/Beckman 25-18 and 15-11. Beckman improves on to battle Davenport Assumption in Gooselake Monday night.

In Independence, Western Dubuque and 14th-rated Independence went 5 games in a nail biter as well and the Bobcats pulled through with the upset 3-2. WD won 25-20/Indee 25-21/WD 25-18/Indee 25-15/WD 16-14. The Bobcats regional final date Monday night will be with 4A 2nd-ranked Dubuque Wahlert at Wahlert.
