Delayed Plea Hearing for Driver Involved in WD School Bus Rollover

klinkThe driver who crashed into a West Delaware school bus last fall will be in court for a plea hearing next month.

42-year old Monte Klink of Arlington collided with the bus on a gravel road northwest of Manchester last October, causing the bus to roll. Over thirty students were on the bus at the time of the accident, several of who suffered serious injuries.

Klink is charged with two counts of serious injury by vehicle, as well as operating while intoxicated (second offense), failing to obey a stop sign and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Klink appeared in District Court at the Delaware County Courthouse last Wednesday. Since Klink had recently started taking a new anxiety medication, his attorney asked the judge to delay the plea hearing so Klink could intelligently enter his plea.

The plea hearing is now planned for November 7th.
