Stolen Vehicle Leads Authorities on Chase in Jones County

A stolen vehicle led authorities on a chase through Jones County Friday night.

The Monticello Police Department says their officers tried to pull over a stolen vehicle from Missouri shortly after 10:30 pm, but the vehicle fled Monticello and led them on a chase through farm fields and ditches in rural Jones County.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department and Cascade Police joined the pursuit. The stolen vehicle rammed one of the Sheriff’s Department vehicles, as well as a Cascade Police vehicle.

The stolen vehicle then headed back into Monticello in a residential neighborhood. That’s when a Monticello police officer initiated a pursuit intervention technique at the intersection of North Maple Street and East Third Street, which brought the chase to an end.

The three people in the stolen vehicle – 29-year old Kevin Glassmeyer, 25-year old Dechone Jackson and 29-year old Megan Dains – were taken into custody. The driver was transported to Jones Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say they also found numerous firearms in the stolen vehicle.
