Melvin Chambers, 73, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born on July 22, 1943, in Manchester, the son of William and Viola (Curler) Chambers. Melvin was raised and educated in Manchester.
Melvin was united in marriage to Betty Miller. Two children were born to this union. They later divorced. Melvin worked as a mechanic, truck driver, and was also a cab driver.
Survivors include his son, David Chambers, and his daughter, Sharon Chambers, both of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Tonie Chambers and Eric Wiuff; and one sister, Betty Holbrook-Black of Delhi.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, William, Jr., Edwin, and Donald.
