mike-breckenfelderMichael Carl “Mike” Breckenfelder, 32, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City.  He was born on Sunday, June 10, 1984, in Manchester, to Kenneth Carl and Margaret Ann (Jones) Breckenfelder.  On July 29, 1984 he was baptized at First Lutheran Church and confirmed into his faith on March 28, 1999, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, both in Manchester.  Mike was a 2003 graduate of West Delaware High School.  He continued his education with schooling for computer programming.

On April 4, 2009, Mike was united in marriage to Amanda Flannagan.  Two daughters were born to this union.  They were later divorced.  He was currently in a relationship with Angelina Lambson with whom he had a son.

Mike was most recently employed at Henderson Manufacturing in the IT department writing computer programming for machinery.  He frequently remarked that it was his “dream come true” job.

Mike was a talented artist whose favorite subjects were his children.  He enjoyed playing his guitar, following the Cubs, and always tinkering and reinventing anything electronic – he was our own “Mike-gyver”.  He loved spending time with his whole family, especially all of the children.  He was a kind-hearted, generous, gentle man.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Layla Marley, Cecelia Ann, and Jameson Carl Breckenfelder; his parents, Ken and Margie Breckenfelder; his four siblings, Kelly (Tim) Loesche, and Karena (Darby) Washington, Matt (Sara) Breckenfelder, all of Manchester, and Tara (Eric) Holub of Colesburg; the mothers of his children, Amanda Flannagan and Angelina Lambson Sands; 13 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins; his maternal grandmother, Betty (Cornwell) Jones, of Monticello; as well as his many friends, especially, Ben and Kara Brady.
