HS Girls Basketball: WD Hawks Fall To CP-U In Home Opener

The West Delaware Hawks Girls Basketball team fell to 0-2 with a 56-34 loss to Class 3A 5th-ranked Center Point-Urbana inside Seedorff Gymnasium last night. It was the Hawks home and WaMaC conference opener and parents night. The Hawks played well early but fell behind by 12 at halftime and never got much closer. Hawks head coach Rod Conrad talks about his teams effort and how they will move on from here:

Five players scored for WD. Haley Lyness led the way with 14 points, Jamie Glanz had 10, Abby McGrane added 5, Lauren Collier with 3 and Annie Cassutt chipped in with 2. The Hawks will be off until after the Thanksgiving break as they will be host to Williamsburg next Tuesday night.
