HS Basketball: WD Hawks and Majority of Area Boys Teams Begin Play Tonight

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The Boys Basketball season gets started tonight for a majority of KMCH area coverage teams, including the West Delaware Hawks who come in as a Class 3A preseason top 5 team. The Hawks were 16-7 and 8-6 good for 3rd place in the WaMaC East division last season. All five starters return including all-conference players John Nagel, Derek Krogmann, Kyle Wright and Tyler Kelley along with 4-year starter Ryan Trainer. Hawks fourth-year head coach Matt Uthoff talks about the expectations and the mindset his team has:

The first opponent is WaMaC conference cross-division school Williamsburg on the road. The Raiders were 3-19 last year and the 7th place team on the West side. Coach Uthoff believes it will be a much improved squad this season

All the coverage live inside Williamsburg’s brand new gymnasium around 7:30pm on KMCH and KMCH.com with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bill Logan.
