The Delaware County Board of Supervisors was presented with this winter’s proposed snowmobile routes at their meeting on Monday. The Snow Pioneers snowmobile club, who prepares the routes each year, says there are some minor changes. The Board will review the routes and consider their approval at next week’s meeting.
The Board of Supervisors also heard a presentation from Lori Scovel, the Limestone Bluffs RC&D Executive Director and Watershed Management Authorities Project Coordinator. Scovel provided the board with several updates, including hopes to create an “art trail” around the area (similar to “wine trails”) to promote local arts and culture. Scovel also extended an invitation to the County to become a member of the new Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority, which would give the County a say in projects that would benefit the area. The Board of Supervisors will take some time to review the proposal before considering approval.
And in other county news, the county engineer says work on the 265th Street Bridge should wrap up in about a week.
